Team IE Bikes

Our team philosophy is to encourage the development of our riders and contribute to their enjoyment of the sport of bicycle racing with an emphasis on teamwork and sportsmanship. This is a team that provides developing racers the opportunity to improve their skills, experience the positive aspects of team spirit, and practice team tactics. Our focus is to have a group of riders that want to have fun, enjoy competition, and feel that being part of a team effort increases their enjoyment of the sport.

June 25, 2009: The girls do their thing at San Pedro Criterium!

Last Sunday, Carole and I took on San Pedro. As we approach the start line we talked about the ones who may try to get away and the ones who tend to be sketchy. Glad we discussed it. The sketchy one almost took out Caorle. But with Carole’s great bike handling skills, she managed to stay up right. The sketchy girl came across in front of me trying to stay up right was well. Surprisingly, nobody went down. And this was all in the first 10 minutes of the race. The rest of the race went very well. Carole and I hung in there. We both threw in a couple of attacks and chased down the girls that tried to get a way. It was a great course with technical turns, uphills, and a screaming downhill (my favorite part). With 21 starters Carole finished 5th and I was right behind her at 6th place. This was a fun and painful course!
